Job description

Chippindale Plant is one of the largest privately owned plant hire and sales companies in the North of England with 8 depots. Established in 1949, and recently acquired by AER Rents we provide a complete hire and sales service for a wide range of Construction Plant, Tools, Excavator Attachments and Secure Site Accommodation. We also specialise in the rental of temporary building systems to suit diverse requirements – including anti-vandal accommodation, toilets, containers and everything else our customers need for construction sites and events.

The main responsibility of a plant hire desk controller is to deal with customer queries and orders in a professional manner.

The day-to-day duties of a plant hire desk controller include:

  • Responding to customer enquiries about plant, machinery and tool hire
  • Pro-actively promoting the company at all times
  • Developing professional relationships with internal and external clients
  • Maintaining and exceeding company targets
  • Setting up customer hire contracts
  • Negotiating costs and preparing invoices
  • General administration

You will also be required to coordinate with the Workshop foreman to ensure that the plant is processed through the workshops to meet hires and coordinate the ongoing refurbishment program.

You would have sole responsibility to organise and schedule transport to cover deliveries & collections from site.


 

The Candidate

The ideal candidate must have experience working in a similar environment in the construction equipment hire industry.

A minimum requirement is the ability to demonstrate strong customer contact, administration, organisational and man management skills.

The candidate must be IT literate and have a good educational background.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From £28,000.00 per year
