Our Excavator Rotating Grapple Hire FAQs

Learn more about our excavator rotating grapple hire with our FAQs.

01 I’m a new customer, what does the rotational hydraulic grapples hire process look like?

If you’re interested in one of our rotational hydraulic grapples to hire, simply click “Enquire Now” next to the equipment you’re interested in. This will prompt you to fill out a form with some basic contact information, then a member of our team will get in touch with you. If you’d prefer to drop down to our depot nearest to you between 8am-5pm, we’ll be ready and waiting to discuss your needs over a good cuppa.

If you’re interested in other machinery alongside your rotational grapple hire, whether that’s an excavator to hire, other attachments or something completely separate, we can provide recommendations if you need them. Or, if you know what you need, we can simply arrange the equipment you need for the right place and time, ensuring you receive nothing but the best. From here, we will put together your hire plan and once you’re completely happy with what is in place, we can start the new account setup:

We will need you to fill out a new customer account form, as well as showing evidence of your ‘hired-in plant insurance’. Don’t worry if you don’t have this, as we can provide HireSecure cover for an additional 20% charge. This process takes around 1-2 days, but if you’re in a rush for your hire to begin, we will do our best to sort it ASAP.

We can then assign your account manager, who will know every detail of your project and will be on hand to help with any questions or requirements you have throughout the rotational grapples hire process. Whether this is a quick call over the phone or a visit to site, they’ll be there.

On the decided date, we will deliver your rotational hydraulic grapple along with any other equipment you are hiring. A trained engineer will calibrate your attachment to the excavator, to ensure you’re cooking with gas before they leave. You don’t need to tell us when you think you’ll finish, just give us a call when your project is complete.

Throughout your rotational grapple hire, we can send ‘live-hire’ reports and useful invoicing information, which larger construction projects usually find very helpful.

Finally, once you’ve finished with your equipment, give us a call and we will collect it as soon as possible. We will pause all charges, have a debrief of your experience and then invoice accordingly. Then, we look forward to hopefully working with you again in the future!

02 I need a range of different excavator attachments for my construction project, is this possible?

Yes, it is definitely possible for you to hire a range of different excavator attachments for your project.

When you initially enquire, if it’s over the website just select “Enquire Now” next to one excavator rotating grapple and then we can discuss the other attachments over the phone. Or, if you would prefer to enquire over the phone or in person, then we can start the discussion straight away.

Once we know a bit more about your project and what you’re looking for, we can set up a hire plan. We can plan out which excavator attachments you’ll need and the order in which you’ll need them. From here, on the arranged date, your first attachment will be delivered and a trained engineer will calibrate it to the excavator.

When you’re finished with the first attachment, simply give us a call, one of our engineers will return to site, remove the attachment and calibrate the next one. It’s really that simple. Whether you need your rotational grapple hire and then one more piece of equipment, or a wide range of attachments across your project, we can arrange everything and make the process really straight forward.

03 What excavator rotational grapples are available to hire?

Our rotational hydraulic grapple hire features a range of options to suit different sized excavators and also different on-site needs.

We have slightly smaller rotating grapples that are compatible with 12-20 tonne excavators, like our Volvo EC140DL, which have high gripping volumes for their size. They are specifically designed for sorting and loading material, handling waste and also demolishing light buildings, such as those made from wood or removing roofs. The 360-degree hydraulic rotary drive makes this piece of equipment highly effective and also easy to handle.

The larger rotating grapple hire machinery can be attached to excavators between 16 and 24 tonnes, ideal for the same functions as the smaller grapples, but with the power to demolish more substantial buildings. The higher gripping capacity of these rotational hydraulic grapples makes them highly efficient in handling and sorting large volumes of material at once. Again, the 360-degree hydraulic rotary drive ensures easy use, precision and efficiency.

We can talk through all of our excavator rotating grapples for hire in detail when you get in touch with us.
