JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Yard Operative/Relief Driver
Location: Huddersfield
Reporting to: Depot Manager
Responsible for (direct reports): N/A
Deputises for: N/A
Job Purpose
To ensure that the yard is kept clean and tidy and equipment is stored in its designated area, checking over machines once off-hired, re-fuelling and washing off and cleaning inside the cabs. Relief driving 7.5T wagon when required ie. covering drivers holidays and days off.
Key Skills & Duties
- Moving machinery from/to the loading bays for drivers and customers
- Ensure the yard and storage facilities is clean and well maintained.
- Ensure the yard is up to date with health and safety and environmental compliance
- Organisation of machinery in the yard and removing waste.
- Supporting the workshop staff with movement of machinery
- Use of FLT to move equipment around the yard
- Relief driver upto 7.5 Tonne occasionally delivering light plant equipment to customers
This job involves working outside in all conditions and includes a lot of manual labour so you must be fit and healthy. Experience moving & operating construction equipment or a fork truck is beneficial, and a full driving licence is required
From £30,000 to £31,000 per annum
