Depot ManagerNeil Matthews
Area Manager Hire & Sales (Keighley / Huddersfield)Neil first joined the hire industry in 1979, where he worked in tool hire & sales for 18 years before bringing his wealth of expertise over to Chippindale’s in 1997, where he became our Keighley depot manager operating plant hire & sales in the region. Over the years, Neils passion and drive grew the depot into a thriving part of the Chippindale network. More recently, Neil has moved into a regional sales role where his now 43 years of experience have allowed him to add value and build strong, lasting relationships with many businesses and customers. Now covering Keighley, Bradford, Huddersfield, Kirklees and Calderdale areas (hire & sales), Neil is focused on helping customers and building relationships with firms across the region. Out of work Neil has 2 granddaughters that keep him busy and on his toes!
Mick Robinson
Workshop ForemanStarting as an apprentice, Mick progressed into his current position as foreman in 2016. When Mick isn’t managing the workshop at Keighley, he is also a fully trained Stihl technician and looks after sales of Stihl machinery. Fun Fact: Enjoys trial biking & binge drinking (advanced socialising)
John Ellis
Outside FitterJohn has been with us for 13 years and starting off as an indoor mechanic he has progressed to the heady heights and day release as an outside mechanic. John's extensive experience has spanned over 45 years, starting off as an apprentice based in Leeds. He moved to Keighley as a self-employed mechanic, and after many years of servicing the local community’s vehicles, he decided to turn his hand to the plant hire industry. Fun fact: every bank holiday John can be found on a race track changing wheels & trying to break Ferrari’s pit stop record. Then on a Monday morning ‘trying’ to change a dumper wheel at the same speed!

For more information about our plant hire process, you can call or email our expert team and read more below.
01 The Plant Hire Process In Keighley
To get the plant hire process started, you can give us a call, send us an email, select “Enquire Now” next to a piece of machinery you’re interested in (don’t worry if you’re looking at more than one, we can discuss this in detail later down the line), or drop into the depot between 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. We will be waiting with a proper biscuit and a cuppa.
You’ll be in touch with one of our team members in Keighley, who have a collective experience of over 50 years. We don’t have any kind of sales teams, but simply committed and experienced people who want to help you find the right solution. Plus, they know our equipment through and through, so will be able to advise every step of the way.
Whether you know exactly which Keighley plant hire equipment you need, or you need some advice on the right machinery, that’s no problem. We can arrange your plant hire for the best time and date for you and create a full hire plan. From here, for new customers, we will set up a new account:
New customers will need to fill out a form, and at this point, we will ask for your ‘hired-in’ plant insurance (don’t worry if you don’t have it, we can arrange HireSecure cover for an additional 20% cost.
Once your account is set up, we will assign an account manager who will oversee the hire process, be available to answer any questions and help with further requirements that weren’t in the original hire plan.
On the arranged date, we will deliver all of your tool and plant hire equipment in Keighley or the surrounding areas, ensuring everything is up and running before our engineer leaves. If you have any questions throughout your plant hire in Keighley, simply give us a call.
Throughout your Keighley plant hire, if it would be useful, we can send ‘live-hire’ reports and useful invoicing information, both of which tend to be especially helpful for larger projects.
We understand that projects can run over, which is why we never ask for an end date, but simply keep the equipment for as long as you need and give us a call when it’s ready to collect. We will pause all charges, collect the equipment from your tool and plant hire in Keighley, then invoice accordingly.
