Our Steel Shears Hire FAQs
Find out more about our steel shears hiring process with the FAQs below. For more information, you can always speak to Chippindale Plants friendly team via phone or email too.
01 What is the process for new customers looking for metal shears hire with Chippindale?
If you’re a new customer, welcome! We’re all about making the metal shears hire process as smooth as possible, which starts with our new customer process. Simply select “Enquire Now” next to any of our steel shears and then you’ll fill out a contact form. We’ll get in touch, or you can contact us straight away over the phone or email. If you prefer to do things in person, come down to see us at one of our depots between 8am and 5pm, for a cuppa and proper biscuit! From here, we will talk about your project and start arranging your metal shears hire plan, whether you know exactly what you need or would like some advice from our experts. Also, whether you need to hire metal shears on their own, or you need a full site’s worth of equipment including site cabin hire and tool hire, that can all be arranged.
Once you’re happy with the metal shears hire plan, we will start the new customer process:
The first stage is for you to fill out a new customer form, as well as provide us with evidence of your hired-in plant insurance. If you haven’t got this sorted yet, we can arrange it for you at an additional 20% charge.
We will then assign your account manager, who will be with you throughout the hire process. They will know every detail of your metal shears hire plan, to help with any requirements or questions throughout.
We will then deliver your excavator metal shears on the agreed delivery date. One of our engineers will come to site and calibrate the metal shears hire equipment to the excavator, so you’re always cooking with gas before we leave!
Throughout the process, if you need any assistance, get in touch with your account manager. We can also send live-hire reports and invoicing information if that would be useful, which we find is often for large projects.
Lastly, once you’ve finished with your steel shears hire, simply give us a call. We will pause all charges and collect the equipment. You don’t need to tell us in advance when the project will be finished, as we know how often things run over.
02 Can Chippindale’s metal shears hire equipment be fitted to any excavator?
Our steel shears to hire are mostly designed for 12 to 20 tonne excavators, however with our wide range of head brackets, we can fit to all different brands of excavator. When we deliver the equipment to site, our engineer will calibrate the metal shears to ensure everything is running smoothly. So, whether you have an excavator, want to buy an excavator or hire with us, we can find the right solution.
03 What brands of machinery do you invest in?
As with all of our plant hire fleet, we invest in industry-leading machinery that we have worked with for decades. We never just go with the biggest name, but machinery we know we can trust to keep you safe and do the best job. From the latest Bomag rollers to Volvo excavators, Mecalac dumpers and Atlas Copco compressors, we never compromise on quality.
