Trench Compactor Upgrades For Athena Civil Engineering

Athena Civil Engineering, one of our long-time customers based in Leeds has purchased ten of the latest BOMAG BMP8500 trench roller's with the additional Economizer product package from our plant sales division to use across Yorkshire in their expanding fleet in the North.

The BOMAG BMP 8500 is a multi-purpose, articulated, radio-controlled vibratory compactor roller that is used predominantly in the soil compaction of trench's, sewers and pipeline construction. By controlling the rammax with a remote control it allows the user to work without concern for vibrations, extreme sunlight or unfavourable conditions.

With the use of the Economizer product, achieving optimal compaction is a breeze as the trench rammer has a flatscreen display which monitors the compaction level as the user works and clearly notifies when the desired compaction level is achieved. This functionality will allow Athena to maintain a higher quality of work on sites and it also allows a wider range of site staff to operate as there is no set-up or calibration required with a large light strip and warning lamp activating to indicate the end of compaction.

Athena decided to go for the hardy and robust BOMAG BMP8500 instead of alternatives such as Wacker Neuson RTX-SC3, this was due to the build quality, service from chippindale plant and time-saving features such as Economizer provided only by BOMAG. The BOMAG BMP8500 only weighs 1595kg and also feature the latest Tier 4 engines. In addition to Economizer, Athena also opted to add state of the art high visibility liveries to their new trench roller's and was also fitted with CESAR's latest Data Tag security system which includes live tracking for full fleet visibility remotely.
