Volvo Excavators For Howards Civil Engineering
Long-standing Leeds customer Howard Civil Engineering has worked with our plant sales department on organising delivery of several brand new 3 tonne and 5 tonne Volvo excavators, to add to their fleet.
Lead by Steve Todd our plant sales director, we worked closely with Howards to understand exactly what their needs were for this project including, price, budget, functionality and ensured delivery was organised well in advance of their July 27th start date.
The Volvo machines have now been delivered and will be working on a large scale project (£3.1m) awarded by The City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council to Howard Civil Engineering, specifically to widen and improve the intersection on Harrogate Road and New Line at Greengates following its successful work on the Hard Ings Road improvement scheme in Keighley.
This project has come around as Harrogate Road is a key commuter route between Bradford and Harrogate, and is also the primary route between Bradford and the Leeds Bradford Airport in Yeadon. The roadworks Howard Civil Engineering are working on will work to alleviate this intersection of a major traffic pinch-point.
The project will also include signal upgrades, widening all four arms of the junction along with new cycle lanes and pedestrian islands. The latest Volvo excavators are ideal for this type of work due to the zero-tail swing design and high levels of precision allowed by Volvo's unique hydraulic system.
