This STIHL FSA 45 is a cordless grass trimmer, which is ideal for trimming and clearing jobs around your home.

It is lightweight (just 2.3 kg) and well-balanced, with multiple modes of adjustment to both the handle, grip, and head, making for a highly versatile and operator friendly piece of kit. Due to the 90° pivoting cutter head, it can even function as a fully-fledged edge trimmer for keeping the edges of your lawn neat and tidy.

With its PolyCut mowing head, this machine is specifically designed for working around difficult solid objects (such as walls or fences) but also around shrubs, trees, and bushes. These blades are guaranteed not to mark your surfaces while not sacrificing cutting performance.

Changing blades is also very easy, just click them in place and you’re ready to go. The machine even has a handy storage space for replacement blades so you don't have to hunt for them in your shed or van. The head can also accommodate for strim lines, adding even more versatility to the trimmer.

Features in depth

Vertical edge trimming

The rotating head can be simply adjusted through 90 degrees to change the tool from a grass trimmer into a edger, so you can accurately trim around borders, flower beds and pathways.

Adjustable loop handle

So that you can work in the most comfortable position for you, the loop handle can be adjusted to 6 different settings, up to an angle of 120 degrees.

Charge level indicator

So you know how much charge you have left on the battery, the charge level can be viewed at any time with the four LEDs on the side of the trimmer.

Spare blade storage

Activation tool

Top Tips

Cleaning your FSA 45

When you have finished using the trimmer, remove the activation key and clean using a damp cloth or soft brush.

Storing your FSA 45

We recommend that you store your FSA 45 grass trimmer with around 40%-60% charge (2 green LEDs), ideally within a temperature range of 0 to 50 degrees centigrade. Store your FSA 45 in a clean and dry area and keep out of the reach of children at all times.

PolyCut blades

To get the most of the PolyCut blades, place them in a bucket of water for 12-24 hours before using them. This helps to make them more flexible and less likely to break.

Check for wildlife

Don’t forget to check your work area for wildlife before starting to use your tool. In particular, you should check for nesting birds before trimming hedges, as well as checking for other small animals such as hedgehogs before trimming long grass.
