Product Description

The RMA 248 T from STIHL is a battery-powered single-speed lawn mower designed for entry-level users looking to cut small to medium-sized lawns at home. Part of a new range of 2 Series battery-powered lawn mowers, it’s a lightweight and quiet mower that is fitted with innovative key features that make this the ideal choice for home gardeners.

This lawn mower is built with a sheet steel deck, has a 46 cm / 18" cutting width and single point height adjustment that is adjustable between 20 – 100 mm. The RMA 248 T is part of the AK System range of tools and is powered by an AK 30 S battery that is interchangeable with other machines across the range. There are two slots in the powerhead for two AK batteries, so when the first runs out of power you can quickly switch to the second. On a full charge with the recommended AK 30 S battery you will be able to mow lawns up to 340 m2.

The RMA 248 T has 4 different ways of mowing. No additional tools are required but we do recommend you refer to the owner’s manual before working. You can either:

  • Cut & collect with the grass catcher box fitted
  • Cut & drop by removing the grass catcher box
  • Side discharge with the flap that is integrated into the deck
  • Mulch with the multi-blade and mulching attachment

The comfort mono-handlebar allows easy access to the grass catcher box, making it easier to remove and empty when it’s full – plus, thanks to the fill level indicator on the grass catcher box you’ll know exactly when to empty the box too! The 52-litre grass catcher box is ergonomically designed and easy to fully open for fast emptying. The sturdy mono-handlebar is height adjustable and foldable for compact storage after use.

Carrying handles

The STIHL battery-powered lawn mower has a carrying handle integrated into the housing for ease of transport. The handle makes the cordless mower easier to load or return to the upright position. The carrying handle is also suitable as a lashing point, for example for securing the lawn mower with a strap during transport.

Smooth-running wheels

The easy-running wheels of our cordless lawn mowers are extremely robust and hard-wearing. They have been equipped with a traction pattern and directional stability tread pattern for effortless manoeuvring and perfect line holding during mowing.

Height-adjustable comfort handlebar

The comfort handlebar is only mounted on one side of the lawn mower, making it easier for you to remove the grass collection box. As the handlebar is height-adjustable, it enables you to mow your lawn comfortably and ergonomically. You can adjust it to your preferred height without using tools. As the handlebar is also foldable, the lawn mower can be compactly stored and transported.

Folding grass collection box

The innovative grass catcher box is made of plastic and features a folding mechanism that makes it particularly easy to open and empty. The current of air produced during mowing blows the clippings into the grass catcher box and ensures its optimum filling, Special vanes in the box channel the air towards the ground, and so protect the user and lawn mower alike from dust and dirt that has been thrown up. The level indicator signals the correct time for emptying. The airflow generated by the blade raises the level indicator. When the basket is full, the airflow stops. If the airflow is too low, the level indicator returns to its idle state and this is an indication to empty the catcher box. Optimal airflow is required in order for the level indicator to function fully. External influences such as wet, dense or tall grass, a low cutting height, contamination, etc. may affect the airflow and the performance of the level indicator.
