Product Description

The STIHL KM 56 RC-E is a lightweight, petrol KombiEngine, ideal for a range of small garden maintenance tasks. 12 tools in total can be attached to this engine, ranging from a lawn trimmer to a leaf blower, and all the way to a lightweight cultivator, among many others.

It features an advanced starting system (STIHL ErgoStart) that cuts the effort required to start the engine in half, making this tool ideal for domestic users. The electronic ignition module also ensures reliable starts every time and clean, dependable running at all times.

Due to the comfortable loop-handle, the KM 56 RC-E is highly manoeuvrable in tight spaces, making it ideal as a brushcutter or a trimmer, and any job that requires high degrees of precision in tight spaces.

It is also exceedingly easy to swap attachments with the quick-release coupling system, allowing this machine to fit all of your maintenance needs on the go and without having to carry multiple tools at once.

Note: this is the engine unit only; you will need to purchase at least one attachment to make use of it.

STIHL KombiEngines and their attachments utilise cutting edge technology and robust design. That’s why this KM 56 RC-E features:

  • Quick-release coupling (easy swapping of attachments)
  • STIHL ErgoStart (cuts effort required in half)
  • Electronic ignition module (reliable starts and clean running)
  • Reduced-emission technology (20% lower fuel consumption and lowered exhaust emissions)
  • Loop handle (increased precision in constricted areas)
  • Split shaft (easy to transport and store)
  • A wide range of available attachments

Electronic ignition module

This ensures reliable starting and trouble-free running. The ignition system is fully encapsulated and thus protected from damp and dirt.

Reduced-emission engine technology

2-stroke engine with stratified charge. A fuel-free layer of air is created between the burned charge in the combustion chamber and the fresh charge in the crankcase, reducing the amount of fuel lost during the charge cycle. This results in more power with a lower weight, up to 20% lower fuel consumption than regular 2-stroke engines and significantly reduced exhaust emissions.

Simplified starting system

Simply set the choke, pump the fuel primer, pull the starter core and away you go! The running machine then switches off after a brief press of the stop button. Once the machine is at a standstill, the ignition activates again automatically. Thus the ignition is always ready for starting.

Features in depth

Stihl ergostart (E)

A genuine advance in easy starting. STIHL ErgoStart (E) cuts the effort required to start the tool by half, while the starter cord can be pulled at just one third of the normal force. All it takes is 2 fingers and a gentle pull action.

Manual fuel pump

The manual fuel pump can be used to deliver fuel at the touch of a button. This means that you need less pulls of the starter cord even after long breaks.

Loop handle

The loop handle is ideal for working in confined spaces, eg tidying between shrubs and bushes.

Quick-release coupling

The quick-release coupling allows the KombiSystem to be quickly dismantled into two parts for easy transport and storage - and then re-assembled quickly without tools.
